Ingredients
Orange lentil ½ cup
Yellow lentil ½ cup
Chopped garlic 4 cloves
Chopped onion 1 no
Bay leaf 2 nos
Stock/water 6 cups
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Curry powder 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves 2 tbsp (garnish)
Fresh cream 2 tbsp
Celery 1 stalk chopped
Carrots ½ cup chopped
Potatoes ½ cup chopped
Pick wash; soak the lentils for 20 mins. Heat oil in a pan, sauté the white garam masala, garlic, onion for a min, add the carrots, potatoes, celery, and the soaked lentils, salt, pepper, curry powder, cumin powder stock or boiled water, simmer for 45 mins or until the lentils are well mashed. Remove the bay leaf, and puree the soup, strain, boil and cream, blend well check seasoning. Serve hot, garnished with coriander leaves.
