NASI GORENG (shrimps chicken and veggies in mildly spiced rice)
Ingredients
Basmati rice 1 ½ cup parboiled
Oil 2 tsp
Chopped garlic 1 tsp
Chopped ginger 1 tsp
Chopped onion 1 small
Carrot 1 small diced
Sprouts ¼ cup
Capsicum 1 small diced (red / green/ yellow)
French beans 8-10 nos sliced
Mushrooms 4-5 nos quartered
Shrimps 8-10 nos
Boneless fish ¼ cup cubed
Boneless shredded chicken ½ cup boiled
Egg 1no
Salt and pepper to taste
Chili sauce 1 tbsp
Soya sauce 1 tbsp
Spring onion greens 1 tbsp chopped for garnish
1 tbsp white wine (optional)
Method
Clean, wash and parboil the rice. Cool and keep aside. Heat oil, sauté the ginger, garlic onion add in the fish, prawns, eggs, vegetables, chicken, rice, sauces, seasonings and toss on a high flame. Remove serve hot garnish with spring onion greens. Serve with oriental sauces.

VARIATIONS: Try a vegetarian variation with bean sprouts, pepper, bamboo shoots, cauliflower etc. for a Chinese touch try adding a little schezuan sauce to the rice.
